Dwelling by a Stream (Zongyuan Liu, Tang)

I had so long been troubled by official hat and robe
that I am glad to be an exile here in this wild south land.
I am a neighbour now of planters and reapers. Alcohol lamp
I am a guest of the mountains and woods.
I plough in the morning, Turing dewy grasses,
And at evening tie my fisher-boat, breaking the quiet stream.
Back and forth I go, scarcely meeting anyone,
And sing a long poem and gaze at the blue sky.
溪居 柳宗元
往来不逢人, 长歌楚天碧。

TaoTeChing, Lao-Tzu 11

Thirty spokes join one hub. The wheel’s use comes from emptiness. JPC0007
Clay is fired to make a pot. The pot’s use comes from emptiness.
Windows and doors are cut to make a room. The room’s use comes from emptiness.
Therefore,  Having leads to profit,  Not having leads to use.

TaoTeChing, Lao-Tzu Day 10

Can you balance your life force
And embrace the One without separation?

Jasmin Green Tea smallCan you control your breath gently like a baby?
Can you clarify your dark vision without blemish?
Can you live people and govern the country without knowledge?

Can you open and close the gate of heaven without climbing to earth?
Can you brighten the four deductions without action? Give birth and cultivate.Give birth and do not possess. Act without dependence. Excel but do not rule. This is called dark Te.

Hold and fill it–
Not as good as stopping in time.
Measure and pound it– It will not long survive.

IMG_1081smallBest to be like water,
Which benefits the ten thousand thins
And does not contend.
It pools where humans disdain to dwell,
Close to the Tao. Live in a good place. Keep your mind deep. Treat others we. Stand by your word. Make fair rules. Do the right things. Work when it’s time. Only do not contend,
And you will not go wrong.
